Some Reflections On The Blog

Regular commentators, David and Nicholas, please tell us what you think!

My Concerns
(i) Will I stop finding relevant material to write about ? If inspiration starts to dry up, then I could get into a routine of posting less often than several times a day.

(ii) It is so easy (!) to renew a resident's parking permit online that I must now wait till Monday to phone County Hall for help with the application.

Could circumstances like a forgotten password and/or a google glitch mean that I suddenly lose access to the blog? If anything like that happens, then I will inform a couple of regular correspondents by emailing them from a family member's email account.

These are the fears of someone to whom computers are a mystery. If anything goes wrong, then everything goes wrong. Meanwhile, I hope, it will continue to be business as usual for a while.

Do tell me if there's anything I can do to help -- though I'm a tech-illiterate type too.

Kaor, Paul!

PARKING permits outside the house where you live??? That seems so strange to me! We don't have that here, where I live, unless special factors made other arrangements necessary for different locations.

Like Mr. Stirling, I fear I am far too computer illiterate, alas, that I don't think I could help if something happens to disrupt your connection to the Internet. All I can thing of is that you write down your password and keep it in a secure location.

Thank you both. I had a very bad experience a while back. Gmail kept sending a verification code (or whatever they called it) to my old mobile number and simply would not respond to any message I sent them about the problem, except to say that my problem would be addressed! Ketlan, who is no longer with us, solved the problem by opening a new gmail account for me. I now fear that, sooner or later, something like that will happen again. Of course, if it does, I will just have to get help and advice from someone else.

Sean,
The parking permits are meant to help us. Our street is very near the city center so people would use it as a free car park if there were no parking restrictions.

Thanks for the explanation, re your fears of possibly getting "disconnected" from the Internet. Probably the best solution, even tho it may cost some money, would be to consult a professional in the computer field.

Now I understand what you meant about parking permits. We have similar problems here, in some parts of the city.

Sean,
Google Security have just got me to confirm my current mobile number so some of the fear has been alleviated.

Good! I'm glad! But I hope you look around for a good consultant, just in case.
