We developed this theme in two further posts. See The People Of The Wind III. Hloch does it again. He tells us that, when assessing material for inclusion in the Earth Book:
"He rides among whatever winds blow, choosing first one, then another, hoping that in this wise he may find the overall set of the airstream."
-Poul Anderson, INTRODUCTION HOW TO BE ETHNIC IN ONE EASY LESSON IN Anderson, The Van Rijn Method (Riverdale, NY, 2009), pp. 175-176 AT pp. 175-176.
We seem to have exhausted information about the "ancestors on Ythri" but will continue to find metaphorical winds. And what could be better for inclusion in the Earth Book than this story which introduces Falkayn's crew member, Adzel, and:
"...gives a glimpse from within of Terran society when the Polesotechnic League was in its glory..." (p. 176)?

Kaor, Paul!
And analogous metaphors for humans would be walk, walking, run, runs, running, etc., for us. And Anderson was fond of using "stride/strode."
Ad astra! Sean
