Dates And Decline

According to Hloch:

"...the Polesotechnic League was in its glory..."
-see here

- at the time of "How To Be Ethnic In One Easy Lesson" whereas the League's philosophy and practice were becoming archaic or obsolete by the time of "Esau."

According to Sandra Miesel's Chronology of Technic Civilization, "How To Be Ethnic..." is set in 2416 and "Esau" in the 2420s.

For an alternative take on the Chronology, see:

Kaor, Paul!

Thanks for mentioning my article. I don't know how much more, aside from one or two tweaks, my proposed revision of the Chronology of Technic Civilization can be "improved." I suggested "How To Be Ethnic In One Easy Lesson" occurring in AD 2461 and "Esau" as happening in 2471. That doesn't leave much time for the original, guiding philosophy of the Polesotechnic League to have become visibly obsolete (in both versions of the Chronology). Hloch's comment would have made more sense if he had placed it with his remarks about "Lodestar."

Btw, I've started rereading A CIRCUS OF HELLS.

Ad astra! Sean
