The People Of The Wind, IV.
When Phillipe Rochefort and Eve Davisson go out for dinner:
the restaurant in Fleurville ("Flower Town") on Esperance ("Hope") in the system of the star Pax ("Peace") is described as "intimate" (p. 487);
they sit by a window through which they see gardens and stars;
there is a live sonorist;
there are "...perfumed, slightly intoxicant vapors..." (ibid.);
they have hors d'oeuvres and champagne but, unusually, we are not told what they eat.
Are there distinctive Esperancian foods? Is anything imported from nearby Avalon? Arinnian and Tabitha eat on Avalon two chapters later. Every detail enriches a future history series, especially the food.

Kaor, Paul!
We do see mention, centuries later, of how an oceanic planet like Nyanza has many different types of sea foods. And Chives recommended to Flandrdy, in A STONE IN HEAVEN, "fish" imported from Unan Besar.
Ad astra! Sean
