The People Of The Wind III

See The People Of The Wind II.

How could I forget Hloch's remark that to explain the concept of "nation" is "stiffly upwind," already quoted four times? (Scroll down.)

We want more about the Ythrians but we already have a great deal:

first human-Ythrian contact on Ythri;

Ythrians with human employees explore Gray;

an Ythrian ship takes Nicholas van Rijn and his granddaughter, Coya Conyon, to Mirkheim, already discovered by van Rijn's employee, David Falkayn;

human beings and Ythrians led by David and Coya Falkayn colonize the Hesperian Islands on Gray, renaming the planet Avalon;

human beings, including Ivar Holm, and Ythrians colonize the Coronan continent on Avalon;

human beings and Ythrians led by, among others, Ferune of the Mistwood choth, Daniel Holm, Christopher Holm, who is also Arinnian of Stormgate, and Tabitha Falkayn, who is also Hrill of Highsky, successfully defend Avalon against the Terran Empire, keeping it within the Domain of Ythri;

Hloch of Stormgate compiles The Earth Book Of Stormgate;

Erannath of Stormgate spies for both the Empire and the Domain;

Dominic Flandry, a knight of  of the Terran Empire, says that mixed species cultures, like Avalon, look promising.

Kaor, Paul!

Imhotep, in THE GAME OF EMPIRE is another mixed species planet: humans settled the highlands, where they could breath unassisted, Tigeries the lowlands (ditto), and the Sea People the seas. The latter two races were rescued by the Empire from Starkad before their sun was triggered into exploding.

Sean,

And, to a lesser extent, Dennitza with a Merseian minority.

I forgot about Dennitza. And star ports like Irumclaw, in A CIRCUS OF HELLS, came to be mixed species cities, as people of many races came to live there for longer or shorter times. And non humans are mentioned as working at Admiralty Center in THE REBEL WORLDS.
