And don't forget Dominic Flandry's anxious reflections about the probable fate of Admiralty Center in Chapter VI of WE CLAIM THESE STARS. It's destruction would mean something of "beauty and gallantry would have departed the universe" (quoting from memory). A somberly elegiac text!
