Laurinda reads ancient fiction to keep herself human despite her service as interface between human and machine intelligence. She and Christian Brannock will meet in a remote future. During Laurinda's organic life on Earth, Brannock is one of those "...minds at other stars..." (p. 38)

The HARVEST OF STARS books and GENESIS were very strange and difficult reading for me. And that was good, it showed how Anderson was not content to rest on his past achievements.
