Previous Posts On "The Sensitive Man"

I have just finished this rereading of Poul Anderson's "The Sensitive Man." This time, I have not posted about certain important issues because I had already done so. They were:

A Debate About The Future
Comments On A Debate About The Future
Comments On A Debate II
The Sensitive Man
Psychotechnic Theory Of Mind

Although the characters discuss and debate crucial issues, the plot of each story so far has been resolved when one side defeated the other in physical combat. The issues remain to be addressed further. More than this has to happen in a future history series and will start to happen in the following volume but meanwhile we are able to appreciate all the colorful details of futuristic society that the author has presented so far.

Kaor, Paul!

But many SF readers are not that interested in the boring details of ordinary, every day life. Altho I do agree that giving us some details like that adds depth and background to the stories.

I'm reminded of the first time we see Dominic Flandry in A STONE IN HEAVEN, as he began his day in Archopolis. I assume those are the kinds of details you like to see.

Sean,

And "Quixote and the Windmill" has two guys and a robot in a bar.

Paul.

I remember that one too! Altho the circumstances which brought those two men together were not the kind of "ordinary" things they would have liked.
