Savior With A Time Machine

Appropriateness:

Toynbee was a historian;

he used HG Wells' phrase, "time machine";

the Martian academic in Poul Anderson's "Cold Victory" (part of Anderson's first future history series) quotes Toynbee's phrase, "the savior with the time machine";

I see that that phrase was also applied to the most recent US Presidential election.

I am in haste to publish this post before my computer stops working again.

Kaor, Paul!

Despite the fact I would have preferred former Florida Governor Jeb Bush as the GOP nominee in 2016, I still voted for Donald Trump because I simply could not stand his rival Hillary Clinton. And Trump has been a better president than I expected.

Ad astra! Sean

Kaor, Sean!

My political views have some overlap with yours, but if Trump has been a better president than you expected, either you started with very low expectations, or your assessment of his presidency differs from mine.

Best Regards,
Nicholas

Partly both! And I think Pres. Trump has been handling this coronavirus catastrophe as well as any man could hope to do.

Regards and ad astra! Sean

I think that we need concern for everyone on Earth, not just for the citizens of a single country?
