"What Shall It Profit?" II

"What Shall It Profit?"

When Radek, the journalists, says that it would be pointless to dance on our ancestors' graves, Barwell, the drunk, responds:

"'But are they in those graves?' he whispered." (p. 75)

Barwell's reasoning:

radiation shortens lifespan;
much radiation has gone into the environment;
however, medicines have counteracted it;
radiation sickness cures ought to lengthen life;
but lengthened lifespans means a population problem;
so scientists keep it secret;
to conceal longevity, they change their names and faces;
Barwell was fired because he heard something.

Does Anderson's Psychotechnic History have an equivalent of the Howard Families practicing their Masquerade in Robert Heinlein's Future History?
