How The Stories Differ

It is that time of evening when I do not want to read any more Poul Anderson but do want to write one more post.

In "Marius," Fourre prevents Reinach from becoming a dictator.

In "Un-Man" and "The Sensitive Man," the protagonists defend the UN against its enemies.

In "The Big Rain," Hollister must overthrow a dictatorship on Venus.

Four heroes of freedom. But what of everyday life in the future? We have been shown some details and will see more in The Complete Psychotechnic League, Volume 2. But not here tonight. Thank you all for your attention.

Kaor, Paul!

I think Reinach is best understood in "Marius" as more "guilty" of making dangerously short sighted decisions that would have very bad consequences, not so much of becoming a dictator. Altho he might have ended as a dictator.

Ad astra! Sean
