Leaving the man smiling but unconscious, she advises his family, waiting in an outer room, that he will probably remain unconscious and definitely die soon.

Oddly enough, what I remembered was how the dying Roman Emperor Vespasian insisted on struggling to his feet, saying that it was fitting for an Emperor to die on his feet.
