Orion Shall Rise, CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE.
At the end of the previous chapter, Iern's estranged wife, Faylis, screamed when she saw Skyholm suddenly fly away north - across the North Pole to attack the Northwest Union. It had been a fixed point in the sky and the guardian of Uropan civilization for centuries.
Meanwhile, Iern and his "...barbarian hussy..." (p. 442) return from beyond the Moon, the Sun behind them:
Earth ahead is "...a white-marbled sapphire amulet..." (p. 444);
(see A Planet In Space);
the receding Moon is an "...ashen craterscape..." (ibid.);
"...the galaxy made a frosted highway..." (ibid.).
We can almost predict a mention of the Milky Way.

Kaor, Paul!
And here we see the usurper Jovain committing his worst and most damaging act of folly.
And I thought of describing the Galaxy as a frosted highway of stars.
Ad astra! Sean
