We have discussed Poul Anderson's use of the Bible but have we noticed that Perish By The Sword is a Biblical title?
I have read and posted about Perish By The Sword. See here. Also, Nygel Harrot has reviewed it for us. See here. We will shortly publish a second guest review of this book. In the light of that second review, I will probably reread the novel, looking out for the points highlighted by the reviewer. Not what I expected to do but things change.
Meanwhile other activities continue like a big family BBQ under a gazebo beside the pond in Ketlan's back garden yesterday afternoon. Back here later.

Kaor, Paul!
I'm a bit chagrined to realize that it was only till you pointed it out that Anderson's mystery novel PERISH BY THE SWORD is a Biblical title taken from Matthew 26.52 ("Then Jesus said to him, "Put back thy sword into its place; for all those who take the sword will PERISH BY THE SWORD." ").
When it comes to the three mystery novels Poul Anderson wrote, it was MURDER IN BLACK LETTER which stuck most clearly in my mind. Partly because of how we see sensory deprivation used in that story as a method of interrogation.
