Interstellar Superstitions

"'What the Starless Realm is going on?'
"'Devil's work right enough, ser,' da Cruz said..."
-The Hammer, CHAPTER FOUR, p. 357.

This post-interstellar society calls God "the Spirit of Man of the Stars" and locates the Devil in a "Starless Realm."

Paul:
The invocation "Spirit of Space" shows up in a number of Andre Norton's stories. And I've already mentioned — somewhere on this site — one of Norton's characters who collected and was very good at re-telling often-spooky folklore such as a "Flying Dutchman" equivalent.

Kaor, DAVID and Paul!

David: and once we finally get off this rock I fully expect similar superstitions about the space equivalents of the Flying Dutchman or "Marie Celeste" will appear.

Paul: I too thought of the Sky Cave of the Ardazirho.
