The People Of the Wind.
"'Influence,' [Ferune] added. (II, p. 462)
Eyath became friendly with Christopher Holm who would become Arinnian because she accompanied her father, Lythran, when he had business in the human city of Gray. Daniel Holm thinks that his son is becoming too Ythrian. Vodan tells Eyath:
"'...I've naught against Arinnian, but sometimes I wonder if you've not been too much with him... don't try, don't wish to be human.'" (III, p. 470)
Holm says:
"'Wasn't the whole idea of this colony that both races should grant the other the right to be what they were?'" (p. 462)
Ferune replies that no one is compelled but that, living together, they cannot help changing. Nor should they want to.

Kaor, Paul!
I agree with all of these persons: Vodan, Daniel Holm, and Marchwarden Ferune. I would prefer humans and Ythrians to be influencing each other in MODERATION. And with no one trying to BE like the other species in impossible ways.
