I was all set to summarize a fight through time between Jack Havig and four other Eyrie men but first I had to check whether I had summarized the fight before so first I searched the blog for "Mendoza," the name of the leader of the Eyrie men, and was reminded that this was also the surname of a Time Patrol member. See Carl And Jorith. However, the second post in the search result was There Was Time II, which does summarize the fight. Havig is more intelligent and quicker-witted than his four opponents so is able to use the time travel power more effectively.
After the fight, Havig must quickly get Xenia and her family to seclusion and safety. My first thought was: move them to another time - but, unlike Anderson's other time travelers, the mutant time travelers can move only themselves and a few pounds through time. The best seclusion that Havig can find is a monastery existing at the same time as his rescue of the family.
Havig lives with Meg in Elizabethan London, then, earlier in history but later on his world line, is married to Xenia in Pera, across the Golden Horn from Constantinople. He could conduct two or more such relationships simultaneously from his perspective but doesn't.

Kaor, Paul!
I also recall mention of how two mutant time travelers, by an amazing coincidence were born at approximately the same time, met, and had a child. And when contacted by the Eyrie, were able to carry their infant with them to Wallis' HQ.
