We compared mystical statements about stars in The Day Of Their Return by Poul Anderson and The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader by CS Lewis so here is one in Northern Lights by Philip Pullman:
"'There is a correspondence between the microcosm and the macrocosm! The stars are alive, child. Did you know that? Everything out there is alive, and there are grand purposes abroad! The universe is full of intentions, you know. Everything happens for a purpose.'"

And I still disagree with this anthropomorphizing of the stars Because it's simply not true (unless some stars have strange "living" beings, as seen in "Kyrie").
