Time Travel Heroes
The Time Traveler
Manson Everard of the Time Patrol
Doctor Who
The Time Traveler is the odd man out because he does not have a series but arguably does not need one. His single time journey has three main episodes:
802,701 AD;
a deleted intermediate period;
the Further Vision.
Space-Traveling Series Heroes
Flash Gordon
Buck Rogers
Captain Kirk
Dan Dare
Jet-Ace Logan
Jet Morgan
Captain Condor
Jeff Hawke
Dominic Flandry
Luke Skywalker
Han Solo
Obviously, this second list could be continued indefinitely. I have included only names that came to mind and was surprised to learn about Jeff Hawke when I googled this name to confirm its relevance.
Obviously also, the main point of these lists is that I consider three names much more important than any of the others:
The Time Traveler;
Manse Everard;
Dominic Flandry.

Kaor, Paul!
Another space traveling hero might be Colonel John Christian Falkenberg, whom we see first in the Navy of Jerry Pournelle's Co-Dominium, and then as commander of a mercenary regiment.
Ad astra! Sean
Paul and Sean:
To the space-traveling hero list I'll add Cliff Allister McLane of Raumpatrouille – Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffes Orion (literal translation: Space Patrol – The Fantastic Adventures of the Spaceship Orion). Television program, seven one-hour episodes, 1966.
Also Earl Dumarest, who in a series of short books by E.C. Tubb was constantly trying to find his way back to a planet almost no one had ever heard of, except as a silly fantasy: Earth.
Kaor, DAVID!
Good! The more the better, esp. if you list works I've never read.
I would also include in this list of space traveling heroes Ben Bova's two Sam Gunn collections: SAM GUNN, UNLIMITED and SAM GUNN FOREVER.
Ad astra! Sean
