Dustmote Of A Galaxy And One Spiral Arm

Ensign Flandry, CHAPTER ONE.

Hauksberg reflects:

"...that this one dustmote of a galaxy holds more than a hundred billion suns; that we have not even explored the whole of our one spiral arm, and it does not appear we ever will..." (p. 6)

Millennia after the Empire, mankind has spread through several spiral arms. But here we see Hauksberg repeating the thoughts of many other Anderson characters, particularly in this one future history series. See The Narrator And The Spiral Arm.

Kaor, Paul!

And those thoughts of Lord Haukberg and similar ones by other characters in Technic times made sense at those moments. It took the chaos and anarchy of the Fall of the Empire and the Long Night to scatter mankind even more widely thru out the Galaxy.

Ad astra! Sean
