Dragoika is an alien VIP and Flandry is her liaison officer. During battle stations, they occupy a planetary chartroom with full audio-visual intercom near the navigation bridge. Flandry can tune in on a bridge viewscreen and see exterior space as the quantum field builds up. He can also view the operations tank and the communications office. From the latter, an officer calls the command bridge. Because someone has forgotten to block it, Flandry also views the command bridge where Captain Einarsen confronts a Fodaich on the outercom screen. During the battle, Flandry seems to shift from the operations tank to an exterior view.
Fire sheets. Thunder brawls. Decks twist. Girders buckle. Plates melt. Something explodes.

And one thing I remember was how the Merseian officer claimed the Terrans were entering interdicted space, with Capatin Einarsen rejecting that claim because the Empire did not recognize interdiction in unclaimed space. Which would be analogous here and now to it being accepted that no one could "interdict" international waters on Earth.
Unfortunately, a small nuke penetrated "Sabik's" defenses to wreak havoc!
