An Obscure Connection

We have discussed:

Superheroes

Extra-terrestrial Constellations (in works by Poul Anderson, James Blish, CS Lewis and Neil Gaiman)

(See, in particular: Alien Constellations.)

Two characters in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman: Brief Lives see the Diamond Girl, the Wreath of Bright Stars and the Crucible constellations while wearing Kryptonian garb beneath the Jewelled Waterfalls. Therefore, this scene indirectly connects superheroes with extra-terrestrial constellations and that is as obscure a connection as I can find at this time of night. Tomorrow, after a trip to Preston, we will return to discussing Anderson's Fire Time where we had just come across the Wings constellation.

Kaor, Paul!

It makes sense to imagine humans and non-humans, on planets dozens or hundreds of light years from Earth, finding fanciful patterns in the night time skies of those worlds.

Ad astra! Sean
