Correcting An Error

My most recent attempted summary of Poul Anderson's Technic History here gained in succinctness by omitting an entire novel so let's try again:

The Pre-Saga Technic History
(i) one collection of three stories about Nicholas van Rijn;
(ii) one collection of three stories about David Falkayn;
(iii)-(iv) two novels about both;
(v) three remaining pre-Flandry stories that could be collected and would fit here;
(vi) one pre-Flandry novel;
(vii) The Earth Book Of Stormgate collection, completing the pre-Flandry period;
(viii)-(xvi) the nine-volume Flandry period;
(xvii) one collection of four post-Flandry stories.

This list:

omits only one Flandry period short story, "Outpost of Empire," which could be included with (xi) The Day Of Their Return;

demonstrates, first, that everything in the Technic History can be classified as happening before, during or after Flandry's lifetime and, secondly, that both van Rijn and Falkayn are important pre-Flandry figures.

There are three major historical figures among many other important characters. The full extent of this immense future history series never ceases to impress me.

Kaor, Paul!

And I would have liked so much to have known more about some of the "minor" characters, whom we see either only briefly or merely mentioned. Or, at best, as the POV character in one story alone. Such as Witweet, in "A Little Knowledge," or the Empress Dowager discussed by Admiral Kheraskov in Chapter II of THE REBEL WORLDS.
