Vulcan's Forge III

Planning to reread "Vulcan's Forge" for comparative purposes, I first searched the blog for previous relevant posts, then found that maybe I had already addressed this story sufficiently. See blog search result here.

The parallel with Genesis is the idea of a conscious AI exploring on or near Mercury, from where both Earth and Moon are remotely visible. I will continue to reread the extremely condensed text of Genesis.

Kaor, Paul!

There's also Anderson's humorous "The Critique of Impure Reason," starring an AI robot designed to work on Mercury which unfortunately became addicted to the more boneheaded and absurd types of literary criticism. The robot came to think itself too pure and "elevated" for anything so crass as running mines on Mercury!

Ad astra! Sean
