A sequel to Poul Anderson's Operation Chaos could be about:
the Matucheks revisiting the hell universe (no one does this but why repeat?);
the Matucheks doing something else (Anderson does this);
someone else visiting the hell universe (Eric Flint does this).
So every option is covered, to a reasonable extent.
Flint's premises:
after the Matucheks had blazed the trail, others followed;
the government (feels that it) has to get involved and to bureaucratize the issue with a Department of Infernal Affairs.
OK. Now all that I have to do is to reread the story properly and to comment on some specific details.
Flint's premises are the kind that seem obvious when stated although most of us would not have thought of them.

Kaor, Paul!
I prefer the way Anderson did it, having the Matucheks doing something else in OPERATION LUNA.
I had to laugh a bit at Flint's Department of INFERNAL Affairs, which I almost missed.
Ad astra! Sean
