Parallel Histories

We can assess specific histories within the Technic History. Ythrians and Mersians were contacted and Avalon was discovered during the first Grand Survey. The long term beneficial consequences were human-Ythrian integration on Avalon and human-Merseian integration on Dennitza. Bad consequences were a war between the Domain of Ythri and the Terran Empire and conflict between the Merseian Roidhunate and the Terran Empire. Domain and Empire later cooperated against the Roidhunate. We know what became of human beings after the imperial period but not what had happened to Ythrians, Merseians or any other species. There would have been massive demoralization in the Roidhunate. We see this beginning at the end of the last Flandry Period novel, The Game of Empire. Hopefully, some Merseians on the home planet and in their colonies worked their way toward a more universalist philosophy.
