in the Polesotechnic League Tetralogy, Volume IV, Mirkheim, a few Merseians in the Baburite space navy;
in The People Of The Wind, a single brief reference to the Merseian Roidhunate as a remote albeit growing threat;
in The Earth Book of Stormgate, a single story, "Lodestar," which does explain the reference in Mirkheim to the reason for Merseian aristocratic hostility to the Polesotechnic League.
The predominant role of the Merseians is as the collective villain in the Dominic Flandry series. They are not mentioned in the four post-Flandry instalments. Against all this, the surprise appearance of friendly and sympathetic Merseians in the concluding Captain Flandry novel, A Knight of Ghosts and Shadows, is particularly welcome. Dennitza, which appears only in A Knight..., is where Flandry would have settled if Kossara Vymezal had lived.

Kaor, Paul!
That's not really surprising! Merseia, and Merseians, would not be able to play a larger role in the affairs of the known Galaxy till they learned how to make and use FTL hyperdrive spaceships.
Sad news: David Drake, a well known science fiction writer, died a few days ago, aged 78. I read a reasonably large number of his stories with interest and pleasure. He also co-authored, with S.M. Stirling, many joint books.
Ad astra! Sean
