What better infodump than a TV documentary that Adzel, after spending three years in a monastery, watches to update himself on the current Mirkheim crisis? Conversation between Adzel and Chee Lan adds more details. They remind us that it was Falkayn and they that had discovered Mirkheim although this has been kept secret. Chee Lan informs Adzel and maybe reminds us that an SSL factor had outwitted the Baburites thirty years back: good future historical use of the van Rijn story, "Esau." That factor, Emil Dalmady, was from Altai, visited a long time later by Dominic Flandry. Children of Dalmady will go to Avalon with the Falkayns and one daughter, Judith Dalmady-Lundgren, will write "Esau" and other stories for the Avalonian periodical, Morgana. In Mirkheim II, Sandra Tamarin from The Man Who Counts will meet the Wodenite, Supermetals Captain Nadi, from "Lodestar." We are drowning in future historical references. Each new instalment has to refer to earlier information, then add more.

I remember "Esau." Among other things it inspired me to talk about one of Velazquez's paintings and the old custom of court dwarfs.
