The Two Reading Orders, Not For The First Time

In The Technic Civilization Saga, we read "Lodestar" at the end of Volume II and Mirkheim at the beginning of Volume III, which is their correct fictional chronological order, whereas in the original order of publication of Poul Anderson's Technic History, we would have read Mirkheim, then The People of the Wind, then The Earth Book of Stormgate with "Lodestar" near the end of that collection! The Earth Book editor, Hloch of Stormgate, explains that he is now telling us what we had not been told before. Thus, this is an alternative but also appropriate reading order. Hloch's introductions, now slightly out of their original order, are preserved in the Saga. We need to grasp and understand both reading orders to fully appreciate the Technic History. I am trying to get back to information about David and Coya Falkayn in Mirkheim but that will have to wait till tomorrow.
