The Dog And The Wolf, XXV, 4.
"Sundown at their backs, they rode into night." (p. 504)
This is the concluding prose sentence of The King of Ys, Volume IV, The Dog And The Wolf. It is followed by the five line poem beginning: "Would you know the dog from the wolf?...," then, on the following pages, by Notes, Afterword, Geographical Glossary and Dramatis Personae.
"...they rode into night..." is a generic ending. We all ride into night. Is there anything more to be said? Well, we can do something worthwhile before the sun goes down. We commune with those who went before by reading what they wrote.

Kaor, Paul!
And we see Flandry and Miriam walking into an autumn forest in the High Sierra at the end of A STONE AND HEAVEN.
Ad astra! Sean
