In a human lodging in the Columbus Avenue district of San Francisco:
"She did set the lounger straight upright and ignored its sensuous self-adjustments to contours and skin temperature."
-Poul Anderson, The Stars Are Also Fire, II, p. 145.
(More Futuristic Furniture.)
In the Beynac's living room on the Moon (12, p. 152):
space and grace;
appears to be above ground on old Earth;
perfume from colorful flowers against ivory walls above blue carpet;
air like a summer breeze;
massive furniture;
giant viewscreen showing a medieval Dordogne castle;
a Winslow Homer seascape (see image);
a sleeping cat;
Lunar gravity;
most of it built by themselves over years;
Anson Guthrie says it is quite a place;
we vicariously enjoy.

Kaor, Paul!
I assume there were smaller viewscreens showing scenes from Earth in the Beynacs house (aside from the large one showing that castle). And tho mention is made of what the floor was made from, I assume again it was fused Lunar stone. I suppose people who wanted to be really luxurious and had the money, would use hard woods imported from Earth for both flooring and wall paneling.

Something people living off-earth would do is plant fruit trees for the food, and also after several decades for the wood. Most structure on the moon etc. would be metal & fused rock, but there would be some biological material used for luxury & maybe such materials would sometimes be the most practical.
Kaor, Jim!
I agree, and I can imagine underground greenhouses on the Moon. and maybe on the surface. Soon, I hope!
Ad astra! Sean
