More About Avalon?

Having come this far, I want to stay with the theme of Avalon for a while longer despite having reread and posted about The People Of The Wind relatively recently in November 2016, e.g., see Hospital.

In Who Knows Of Avalon?, I checked through the Avalon sub-series of Poul Anderson's Technic History, summarizing not the plots of the stories but the considerable background information about the environment of Avalon, the terrestroid planet, smaller than Earth but bigger than Ythri, that is jointly colonized by human beings and Ythrians.

So far, I have found it possible to reread an Andersonian text and, while referring to earlier posts, also to find surprising new details to discuss. Whether the texts are literally inexhaustible as they seem to be we will find out.

Kaor, Paul!

One thing I recalled just now was how the impossibility of tightly governing Ythrians a la a human style centralized state would tend to discourage the formation of such a regime among the human colonists of Avalon. Something I would regard mostly with approval.
