I agree with this listing of Flandry's achievements. He too, like Falkayn, had achieved tremendous things.
Also, millennia later, in "Starfog," we see how people still remembered the League and the Empire--but Avalon is not even mentioned!

But the League and the Empire were two early interstellar organizations whereas Avalon is just one planet in another spiral arm. I hope that it still thrives millennia later.

We should hope Avalon still prospers millennia later! No doubt it too will have had its ups and downs, bad as well as good times. As will every other planet seen in the Technic History. But my point was the League and the Empire made a deeper impression on the memories of later generations. Which reminds me of how Flandry said in WE CLAIM THESE STARS that the Empire would one day become a fireside legend.
