Characters travel between galaxies in:
The Triumph Of Time by James Blish;
World Without Stars by Poul Anderson;
Tau Zero by Poul Anderson;
The Avatar by Poul Anderson;
Into Deepest Space by Fred Hoyle and Geoffrey Hoyle.
In The Quincunx Of Time by James Blish, characters in an early interstellar period receive messages from an intergalactic civilization in the further future.
I have discussed Tau Zero at some length. See the blog search result here. By contrast, I have read a library copy of Into Deepest Space only once several decades ago. I think that it will be of interest to acquire a copy of this novel in order to compare it with relevant works by Anderson. It is a sequel to a novelization of a stage play. (Interactions between media are a blog theme.)
For blog discussion of Fred Hoyle's October The First Is Too Late, see here. (Scroll down.) For his The Black Cloud, see here.
