A Storm Coming

At the end of Chapter 1, Trygve Yamamura says:

"'There's a storm coming, and it's going to be hairy.'"
-Poul Anderson, Perish By The Sword (New York, 1959), p. 6.

Of course, there is an exact parallel between the fictional weather and the plot of the novel.

We have already seen, e.g., here, that graphic novelist Frank Miller writes in this same way:

"The heat's finally going to BREAK -- -- but we're in for a WHOPPER  of a KLIK"
-Frank Miller, The Dark Knight Returns (London, 1986), BOOK ONE, p.16.

"...power lines are down all over the suburbs. It's a MEAN one- - and it's heading straight for GOTHAM. Like the wrath of GOD it's headed for Gotham..."
Miller, op.cit., p. 19.

One passage reminds me of the other so I have to quote both and it is Dark Night here.

Kaor, Paul!

Of the three Trygve Yamamura novels, I like MURDER IN BLACK LETTER the best.
