Poul Anderson, World Without Stars, VII.
In the camp at night:
blackness;
a blue glow from the plankton energizer;
warm, dank, softly booming wind;
swamp odors;
whirring generator;
a beast's distant hoot;
lapping lake water;
rustling reeds;
Valland's omnisonor;
clear sky;
galactic glow, reflected by clouds, sheening on the lake;
the galaxy itself clearing the horizon;
Earth's spiral arm visible;
three other planets in this system;
no other heavenly bodies.

Kaor, Paul!
I assume the glow of the galaxy was sheening on the lake?

Sean,
Yes. Was this unclear? I have decreased the size of the image to put "sheening" on the same line as "galactic glow."
Paul.
Kaor, Paul!
I don't think it was absolutely clear that was what you meant, hence my question.
Sean
Sean,
There is a comma, not a semi-colon, after "clouds."
Paul.
Kaor, Paul!
I see that now. It was the originally large size of the illustration, breaking up your text, which caused my puzzlement.
