Life And Death

Ensign Flandry, CHAPTER TWELVE.

When Dwyr was a complete organism, not a cyborg, he would have proved his maleness by leaping between the horns of death:

"...thus did you know yourself wholly alive!" (p. 119)

James Bond wrote:

"You only live twice:
"Once when you are born
"And once when you look death in the face."
-Ian Fleming, You Only Live Twice (London, 1966), 11, p. 101.

That may be true for those guys but not for me. I appreciate my aliveness while sitting here and now on this settee, drinking coffee and writing this post.

The adventures of Dwyr the Hook continue...

Kaor, Paul!

While it is certainly true some beings, like Dwyr the Hook and Dominic Flandry, enjoyed dangerous missions, they did appreciate as well the gentler things in life. For Dwyr that would have been his wife and children. And Flandry, rather notoriously, had voluptuary tastes!

Ad astra! Sean
