Interconnections

In 1940 And The 1960s, we listed a sequence of six fantasy works by Poul Anderson.

In Guardians Of Time And The Pact, we saw that the first two of these works:

Three Hearts And Three Lions
Operation Chaos

- are linked by an inter-universal war between Law and Chaos.

In Three Hearts And Three Lions, Holger Danske begins to wander between universes;

in Operation Chaos, Valeria Matuchek is born in another universe;

in Operation Luna, she is a teenager;

in A Midsummer Tempest, she advises Holger and meets Rupert of the Rhine in the inter-universal inn, the Old Phoenix;

In "House Rule," Nicholas van Rijn from the Technic History is in the Old Phoenix;

"Losers' Night," set in the Old Phoenix, mentions Valeria, Holger, Rupert and Rhysling from Heinlein's Future History.

And, when I get tired of all these interconnections, then I will stop posting about them.

Kaor, Paul!

And I have speculated that Manuel Argos and Dominic Flandry might also have been guests at the Old Phoenix Inn!

Ad astra! Sean
