Imperial Sectors

Sean M. Brooks estimates that, in Poul Anderson's History of Technic Civilization, there are 100 sectors of the Terran Empire. See here. Sean reasons very closely from hints given in Anderson's texts.

How many Inperial Sectors do we know by name?

Sector Aldebaran
Sector Alpha Crucis
Sector Pacis
Sector Spica
Sector Arcturus
Sector Taurus

Not many.

I have a feeling that, in some future history, if not in this one, Terra/Earth is in Sector Sirius but it is too late at night to start consulting other volumes. (However, see Fifty Thousand Years and, more generally, here. Scroll down.)

Onward.

Kaor, Paul!

Many thanks for this flattering discussion of my "Sector Governors" note. And it's not so surprising we know only a few of the names of these sectors--mostly those somehow involving Dominic Flandry. However able and hard working an agent he was, I don't think Flandry worked in every sector of the Empire.

As for our Earth being in the Sirius Sector, that is very likely! I think I reading in one of Asimov's FOUNDATION books about the lost home world of the human race being in the Sirius Sector of the Galactic Empire.
