The Psychotechnic Institute:
advised the UN world government on the basis of a predictive science of society;
trained some individuals in psychophysical techniques;
thus, applied science to society without trying to fit people into a perfect scheme;
more dubiously, manipulated particular groups (see here);
also, faked its results when the predictive science failed;
thus, contravened science and betrayed the public trust.
Honesty would have been the only acceptable policy when the science failed.
I will be traveling to or from, or in, London for most of tomorrow.

Kaor, Paul!
No one likes to admit failure, much less that a cherished plan or theory has failed. The members of the Psychotechnic Institute could and were every bit as foolish, bungling, and incompetent as everyone else could be.
