Quick Scene Changes

This kind of action-adventure fiction requires quick changes of scene. We have seen the Crystal Moon, Terra, Jupiter, the interior of the Hooligan, a Vixenite forest, Garth and the Ardazhiro fortress. At the top of p. 257, Flandry and Kit are prisoners. At the top of p. 258, they are escaping in a stolen lifeboat. Half way down p. 259, they have bailed out, hoping that the Ardazhiro will continue to pursue the now empty boat. At the bottom of p. 259, Flandry and Kit, now in an uninhabitable desert, have found a weather monitor tower in which to take refuge. On p. 260, they see four Ardazhiro craft still in pursuit but are not spotted on the ground. We know that the pace of the narrative will continue or accelerate but that is as far as I have reread so far this evening.

One useful technique for scene changes is chapter headings -- which can contain things like dates and places.
