Goodbye

A Circus Of Hells, CHAPTER EIGHTEEN.

Flandry prepares to escape from Talwin in his recovered scout boat, knowing that he will be pursued.

"Goodbye, Talwin. Goodbye, existence? We'll see." (p. 344)

The following statements are platitudes but true. Everyone will die sometime. Usually, we do not know when. Sometimes we do know either with certainty or at least with great probability. There may be an exaltation in knowing that death is imminent but that, until it comes, we will continue to live and act to the full, as Flandry does. Remember James Bond's imperfect haiku.

Kaor, Paul!

I agree with you and I like Dominic Flandry's attitude towards life. Alas, I have never been as bold and daring as he was!

Ad astra! Sean
