The first page describes the passage of Hauksberg's yacht, the Dronning Margrete, vastly more comfortable than a Navy ship, through interstellar space. Two objects are detected, a five-gram pebble and a Ymirite spaceship.
Pp. 82-84 recount a conversation between Hauksberg and Abrams whereas pp. 85-88 recount conversation and more between Flandry and Persis d'Io.
CHAPTER TEN begins by describing the original Merseian capital, Ardaig.
Efficient and economical writing gets the characters to where they are going in no time. Tomorrow, we can check the content of the two conversations.

Chapter Nine gives us interesting and clear expositions of the opposing views of Hauksberg and Abrams. And with the latter concluding Haukseberg was not at all the fop he PRETENDED to be.
As you said, Chapter Ten shows us Ardaig as the original capital of Merseia, With Tridaig as the new, more aggressively forward looking co-capital. Rather like Constantinople was for the Roman Empire, vis a vis Old Rome.
