first, his long stay there in A Circus of Hells;
secondly, as recorded by him in a report that is forwarded to Chunderban Desai on Aeneas in The Day Of Their Return;
thirdly, while on Diomedes in A Knight of Ghosts and Shadows, Flandry remembers his meeting first with Tachwyr, then with Aycharaych, on Talwin during the Imperial civil war.
On the second occasion, he has spotted and inquired about a Chereionite who must have been Aycharaych. On the third occasion, he is all too familiar with Aycharaych and suddenly suspects:
"'You're the only Chereionite I've ever met -' Flandry stopped.
"After a moment he proceeded. 'Are you the only Chereionite anybody has ever met?'"
-Poul Anderson, A Knight of Ghosts and Shadows IN Anderson, Sir Dominic Flandry: The Last Knight of Terra (Riverdale, NY, March 2012), pp. 339-606 AT IX, p. 461.
With that question, Flandry is well on his way to solving the mystery of Aycharaych.

Kaor, Paul!
And that report Desai read stated the drunken Merseian Flandry questioned said he suspected that Chereionite did not truly have Merseia's interests at heart!
Ad astra! Sean
