Some Facts About Animations

The question how to film Larry Niven's kzinti is potentially relevant to Poul Anderson's works because Anderson's Man-Kzin Wars installments could be adapted to screen. Both Ythrians and kzinti have crossed over between fictional universes. Thus, Anderson created Ythrians and wrote kzinti.

Kzinti were easy in "The Slaver Weapon" because it was animated but even then the stripes were too difficult. See here. Thus, stripes or no stripes became one difference between Known Space kzinti and Star Trek kzinti and could become a difference between kzinti in prose Known Space and kzinti in screen Known Space.

CGI should make it possible to incorporate kzinti, Ythrians, Merseians, Wodenites, Cynthians etc in live-action screen dramatizations.

Kaor, Paul!

I don't really much care for animations because the characters in them, human or not, simply don't look REAL to me. Too garish, cartoonish, and two dimensionally "flat."

Ad astra! Sean
