I would like to read a story set in an interstellar civilization at the opposite end of the galaxy from Technic civilization. All the intelligent species would be different and they would have no contact or communication with Terrans, Merseians, Ythrians etc yet I would ask the author to find some way to indicate that this was the same galaxy as the one inhabited by Nicholas van Rijn and the Polesotechnic League. I do not know how that might be done but then I could not have envisaged any of the Technic History in the first place. Beings with advanced mental powers might have some long distance knowledge of other parts of the galaxy but without any ability to communicate or intervene.

Kaor, Paul!
We do see mention of explorers who went extremely far into the galaxy. And we can assume Old Nick would try to go REALLY far during that last journey of discovery he planned to spend his final years doing. But that's all we know.
And we do see beings with mental powers in the Technic History, the Chereionites. Or, rather, one Chereionite, Aycharaych. And the Ice People of Altai have some strange abilities.
Ad astra! Sean
Sean,
Indeed. I had the Ice People in mind.
Paul.
