Since I try to make some time for rereading certain other authors, I should at this time of night switch off the computer and return to the blog over breakfast in the morning. Nicholas van Rijn is in the position, unusual for him, of not being able to look forward to a good breakfast but he is prosecuting a war to change that situation. We will return to his campaign a few hours from now. Meanwhile, our world is in an even worse state but that is less easy to deal with. Good night.

Where And When
We are at about the midpoint of Poul Anderson's The Earth Book Of Stotmgate and, within that collection, at about the midpoint of a novel, The Man Who Counts. Obviously, rereading this longer narrative is a lengthier process. I am not complaining. From this current central position, we look back across the Polesotechnic League period and also into the early Terran Empire period. Fresh details are always forthcoming.

Kaor, Paul!
I wonder how Old Nick would try handling and managing matters if he was living in our times? Almost certainly, much more competently than how our bungling pols are doing just now!
Or Anson Guthrie and the HARVEST OF STARS series might be more apt. I think Guthrie and his wife had just managed to get back to the Moon at about this time in that timeline, thru Fireball Company.
Ad astra! Sean
