Relay Station

A very large T machine, capable of generating much longer paths, is placed in the clouds near the galactic center in the far future. This machine is not near any interesting astronomical object but probably serves as a relay station, placed at the optimum space-time location to serve many places.

It would follow that travelers from many civilizations, possibly including the Others, pass through here but how often? Most transits are probably direct because the average machine accesses so many locations.

It is at this machine that the crew sees a ship passing through in a mere thirty seven seconds. The T machines are like a vast cosmic subway system.

Kaor, Paul!

And I remember how carefully I studied the diagrams of the London Underground, to make sure I knew which relay points I needed to use!
