Poul Anderson's First And Last Future Histories

Genesis transcends the Psychotechnic History like a tesseract transcends a straight line. It reaches further into the past, the future, alternative histories, the galaxy, the mind and speculative post-organic intelligence.

The Psychotechnic History has one unemployed robot whereas Genesis has an infant galactic brain. At the culmination of the Psychotechnic History, human beings mentally controlling cosmic forces build a civilization with their allies at the Galactic Center whereas, in Genesis, nodes of the galactic brain contemplate consciousness surviving the universe and one node re-creates extinct humanity.

Kaor, Paul!

I agree, GENESIS is far superior to Anderson's earlier Psychotechnic stories. And you already know of my views about "The Chapter Ends."
