Gods And Central Park

Some parallels between fictional universes are mere coincidences. However, it is our task to leave no stone unturned.

In Poul Anderson's Time Patrol universe
Holmes and Watson are real.
Carl and Laurie Farness have an apartment overlooking Central Park.
They stroll in the Park.
Carl is an unaging time traveler.
Goths mistake him for Odin.

In Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code universe
Descendants of Jesus and Mary Magdalene are real.
Mal'ach has an apartment overlooking Central Park.
He traps animals for sacrifice in the Park.
He aspires to godhood and has named himself after Moloch.

Kaor, Paul!

Yes, I noticed the striking picture you selected of Central Park, in NYC. Esp. the lake!

I was also aware of how conspiracy theorist books like HOLY BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL and Dan Brown's THE DAVINCI CODE like to claim absurdities such as our Lord and Mary Magdalene marrying and having children. As tho the Son of God had no better thing to do in this world than to live a merely ordinary life! And such books like to claim Christ was the ancestor of the Merovingian dynasty in Gaul/France. Another absurdity, of course!

Anyone naming himself after Moloch and aspiring to become a god makes me darkly suspect an attempt at reviving human sacrifice. And "Mal'ach" reminds me of the name of the Peacock Angel worshiped by the Russians in Stirling's THE PESHAWAR LANCERS.
